Bespoke furniture at MAKANELL is the making of pieces for a particular home. Customised furniture can complete a MAKANELL interior, or sit within a house designed elsewhere, provided the brief is clear.
The photographs on this page are of furniture the studio has published. They are not a stock range, and they are not a promise of identical pieces.
Designed Around the Space
A piece is considered with the room: how people will sit, pass, eat or rest, and how the furniture should sit with the architecture already there. Scale and proportion are set before making begins.
This is why the work is called bespoke furniture. The room is the brief, not a catalogue page.
Material and Finish Selection
Timber, fabric and stone are chosen for the piece and for the rooms around it. The photographs show how those choices read in a finished home. They are not a published list of materials the studio always uses.
Selection happens in conversation, so that customised furniture does not arrive as a separate language from the interior.
